The first session
The unknown is often the hardest part. Let's make it a little more familiar.
Most people come to the first session with a mix of hope, eagerness, and awkwardness — feelings that are entirely natural. You don't need to have your words ready, or to know exactly what is wrong. We'll discover that together. Here is what you can expect, step by step:
The first contact
You reach out through the form, by email or WhatsApp, or by calling the number listed — whichever feels most comfortable. There is no need to explain much: a simple "I'd like to arrange an appointment" is enough. I usually reply within 1–2 working days.
Getting to know each other
The first session is a space for getting to know each other, not an assessment. We'll talk about what brings you here, what you are finding difficult, what you would like to change, what you need, and whatever feels meaningful to you. There is no "right" way to begin; we start from wherever you are, at your own pace.
The practical details
At the end of the first meeting we discuss the framework: the frequency (usually once a week, or every two weeks at a set time), the length of sessions (50 minutes), the fee, and the cancellation policy. Everything is agreed together in the first session.
The decision
After the first session, you take your time. The sense of meeting — whether you feel you can be real within this relationship — is one of the most important factors in the outcome of therapy. Take the time to listen to it. If I judge that a colleague with a different specialization could support you better, I will tell you honestly.
