Dimensional Obsessive-Compulsive Scale — 4 OCD dimensions
The Dimensional Obsessive-Compulsive Scale (DOCS) was developed in 2010 by Jonathan Abramowitz and colleagues and assesses the severity of obsessive-compulsive symptoms across 4 empirically supported dimensions: (1) contamination, (2) responsibility for harm/mistakes, (3) unacceptable thoughts, and (4) symmetry/order. Each dimension is assessed with 5 questions (time, avoidance, distress, interference with life, difficulty controlling) over the last month. It is a modern tool, free for clinical and non-funded research use. It is a screening tool and does not replace a clinical diagnosis.
These questionnaires are self-observation tools and are not a substitute for clinical diagnosis by a psychiatrist or another mental health professional.
