SCOFF

Brief Screening for Eating Difficulties

SCOFF (Morgan, Reid & Lacey, 1999) is a short, widely used tool for screening for a possible eating disorder (anorexia nervosa or bulimia), freely available for non-commercial clinical use. Two or more affirmative answers are considered a “positive” screening result. Important: This is a screening tool, not a diagnosis. A positive result doesn't mean you have a disorder — it means a more careful assessment by a professional is worthwhile. This is a sensitive topic; if it concerns you, you're not alone.

These questionnaires are self-observation tools and are not a substitute for clinical diagnosis by a psychiatrist or another mental health professional.
